Spanish: Not As Easy As Theresa Russo Made It Seem

So at my uni we have to choose an advantage module to enhance our cvs etc. I chose Absolute Beginners Spanish. Why? Because apparently I'm a frickin' moron.

Like many, I enjoyed watching Wizards of Waverly Place as a child (*ahem, young adult*). (Side note: how hot is Jake T Austin now, right? Like daymmmn, son! How'd that happen?) (Also the fact that he's going out with his fan is still a sore subject for me so maybe don't mention it around me) (I mean good on her but like I'm seriously jealous).

Anyhow, I remember the episode where Alex was failing Spanish and Theresa was testing her. Alex couldn't get even the simplest words right (she just kept adding "ito" onto the end of words, eg. Lampito) and I remember thinking omg this is so easy. Lampera! Gosh I totally get Spanish.

So when I saw Absolute Beginners Spanish on the list I signed myself up pretty quickly.

It turns out I don't get Spanish. Not in the slightest.

Lesson one started off nice and easy.

Lesson two got really hard, really fast. (Not like that! Get your minds out of the gutter!)

And it just kept getting worse.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I did in fact pass Spanish and thus forgot everything I was taught in class, as you always do following an exam.

But my main tip for you is this: Don't pick a subject just because a fictional wizard's Spanish mother makes it seem easy on TV.

I was trying to think of the Spanish word for bye but all that's coming to mind is "ciao" and "au revoir" and "sayonara" and literally everything except the Spanish word.

I just googled it and it was fucking "adios" and I flippin' knew that one! Damn it.
