Take Me Back, Sixth Form! I've Changed!

If you had told me a few months ago that I'd be missing sixth form I would have laughed in your face. In a really condescending way, knowing me. But here I am, my first week into uni and missing school like crazy. Don't get me wrong, sixth form was hell. But it was familiar and I miss it. There is no spoon feeding at uni. No playground. You are no longer surrounded by the people you've known since you were 4. And it's scary.

But we're all scared, right? Us Freshers. Newbies. First Years. "We're all in this together" as Troy Bolton would have us believe. We're all just as scared, excited, nervous as each other. So why do I feel like I'm on my own?

My first day of uni was overwhelming, to say the least. Selfie scavenger hunts aside, there was a lot of information being thrown at us in one day and to be totally honest I was a bit freaked out. Oh, how I wanted to run back to school and sneak into my favourite teacher's lesson again. To defer the inevitable: moving on.

It won't always feel like this, I'm sure. Change is always tough but I'll get used to it.

I know you can feel like you don't fit in with any of your new classmates, or things are too different to what you're used to. But you will adjust to it (she says, optimistically). I like to think of uni as a stepping stone to my dream job.

So to end on a positive note (which isn't really like me), I will say this: My first week is almost over and I feel so much better now than I did on my first day. I feel like I'm getting to grips with it all. Slowly. Surely. If you're in the same situation as me, I'm sure you'll get to grips with it soon too. (Probably sooner than me, due to my horrendous awkwardness).

Feel free to share/like/comment etc. this post because it really does mean a lot to me.

As always, I'm very grateful for your time.

Thanks for reading,
