Why I Want to Be Besties with Vyasar From Indian Matchmaking

I told myself I was only gonna make one Indian Matchmaking post bc I didnt want it to be overkill. Having said that, I was so awestruck watching Vyasar (even dreaming about him at one point*) that I had to make a quick listicle. Someone that wonderful needs his own post. Here's why I have become lowkey obsessed: *nothing dirty, I swear

1. He just radiates warmth This is not an exaggeration, the moment he came on screen I warmed to him. I don't know whether it's the hearty laugh, his relaxed posture, or magnificent beard, but as soon I see him I smile. And if you know me, you'll know that's a rarity. Literally every time they showed him, I smiled. I couldn't wait to see if things worked out for him.

2. Emotional maturity - toxic masculinity = communication and understanding He's not afraid to show emotion and vulnerability. In an ideal world, everyone would be like this. But they're not. Myself included. Which is why I appreciate it so much when I see other people showing such emotional maturity and communication skills. Pair that with his nonsexist views on domesticity, (happy to be the house husband/dad), and you've got a real open and understanding homie. What more could you ask for?

3. Has bants When I tell you, this guy made me chuckle. Like not just the blowing air from my nose laugh that we do behind a screen. His little jokes with his cousin and trying to make the potential matches he met feel comfortable within that awkward family setting. (I cringed at every other family meeting scene except his). That is the kinda person I want to be around. I rate it.

4. Good with kids and chose a selfless career Teaching is a thankless job. You have to be a real saint to work with kids imo. Teaching staff are mostly people who want to make a difference in other people's lives, particularly college or guidance counsellors. It's very commendable. And to have students speak so highly of you? Cute af. This is a guy who is clearly good with people (including kids) and would be there to help me through my messy 20s. Wholesome vibes.

5. Honest and kind hearted

Truthfully, the most important thing anyone could be. I really value honesty and openness, but to be able to be so sweet with your delivery? That's like the perfect combination. He was open about his complicated past. Honest about his feelings. Understanding of other people's viewpoints. There are very few people who have moved me so much in such a short period of time. I was just enthralled by his whole demeanour and kind heart.

(Also bonus points for going to see Endgame alone. I went to see Aladdin alone and everyone thought I was a weirdo)

This is gonna be my last public gushing about Vyasar bc I have to remind myself I don't actually know him and it's coming off a lil creepy. Loool I'll be quiet now.

Thanks for reading. If you want to read my other Indian Matchmaking post, or just my general musings/ramblings, then feel free to subscribe. I never spam, I promise. Sharing is also v welcome!

Divya x (Vyasar, if you're reading this, my best friends are seething so I'm actually gonna need a pal)
